2020 Virtual Exhibit

The call for art for this exhibit was for our best or our favorite

plein air or plein air inspired painting done this year. This allowed for submissions of studio works as well as works painted completely en plein air.

The Emerald Coast Plein Air Painters meet on Wednesday mornings at a different location every week  in Okaloosa or Walton County, in Northwest Florida. We sketch or paint en plein air from 8am or whenever you arrive, until 11am. Then we get together to show each other our challenges, and afterwards we enjoy lunch. All media are welcome, and all skill levels are invited. Sessions are not instructed -- each person sets up to paint whatever strikes their fancy. During the pandemic we have been social distancing and wearing masks, and we have been bringing our sack lunches instead of eating at restaurants. Come if you like, no need to check in with anyone. Regarding money, there are no dues, but occasionally we paint at state parks which might have an entrance fee, and at least one road we sometimes use is a toll road.
